Studio Art I
Grades 9-12
Studio Art I is an introduction to visual studies. This course begins with an investigation of the visual language through close observation of the environment and the exploration of the science behind our perception of the world around us. Students will learn how to utilize the elements of art (line, shape, color, value, texture and space), and the principles of design, (variety, contrast, unity, balance, emphasis and repetition) to create a dynamic image. Students will work in two and three dimensions and use a variety of media.
